I have always fought with my weight over the years. That yo-yo diet, due to trying weight loss plans, diets, pills, you name it – and nothing ever worked. I hated trying on clothes and going places such as events, concerts, ball games because the chairs hurt to sit in and never comfortable. Walking in the store or just down the street was hard. My feet, ankles, back would be in pain and I would be out of breathe in no time. I felt like I was going to die of either a heart attack or a stroke if I didn’t take care of the issue with my weight.

I considered weight loss surgery for a long time. When my 2 girls were little, I was honestly scared to do it. However they are grown up now and I thought, if I didn’t do it now, I may never see them grow more or see future grandchildren. I was so tired feeling bad all the time. I did research, looked into different facilities and felt that Alabama Surgical Associate was the best place for me.

I emailed them. They emailed back in no time. I had to write why I wanted the surgery. DR. Doucettee called me within a week. I will say he was understanding and explained everything. The whole staff was great and super nice from the time I walked in, through the surgery and the day I left to go home.

Now I’m not only walking, but jogging and I work out at least 4 days a week. And my body doesn’t hurt and I’m not out of breath. We are venturing out more and going more places. Clothes actually fit, so I actually like shopping for clothes now. And I won’t even go into the sex life. It’s crazy how losing the weight changes everything.
