Total Weight Lost: 90

Before weight loss surgery there were a lot of things I didn’t participate in out of fear. I was unable to sit comfortably for long periods of time- but also unable to stand or walk for long periods of time as well. I was unable to try on clothes (or even shop for) for fear they wouldn’t carry my size or that I what I brought into the dressing room wouldn’t fit. I ran out of breath constantly and I was suffering from severe symptoms related to my PCOS including high insulin levels, depression, infertility and more.
Weight loss surgery came up a few times over the years but it always seemed out of reach or uncommon. When a close friend of mine had bypass I knew it wasn’t as out of reach as I thought it was and about a year after her surgery was complete, I scheduled mine.
Everyone was very welcoming. Lots of information was given in the beginning to make sure I was making the right choice for me. The entire team made the consult, pre-op appointment and entire surgery process very enjoyable.
I LOVE that I can sit in a car longer than an hour without wanting to scream. I fit comfortably in a plane seat. I can buy “normal” sizes from all stores. I can hike without feeling like I’m going to pass out 1/2 a mile in. My PCOS is still with me- but my symptoms have improved 110%. My insulin levels are normal, I am no longer on antidepressants and my cycles have regulated completely.
